ब्रह्मकृत सावित्री गुण वर्णनम् 

Brahma Kruta Savitri Guna Varnanam.  

ब्रह्मोवाच ।।
नारायणस्वरूपे च नारायणि सनातनि ।।

नारायणात्समुद्भूते प्रसन्ना भव सुन्दरि ।। ७९ ।।।।
तेजस्स्वरूपे परमे परमानन्दरूपिणि ।।
द्विजातीनां जातिरूपे प्रसन्ना भव सुन्दरि।।2.23.८०।।
नित्ये नित्यप्रिये देवि नित्यानन्दस्वरूपिणि।।
सर्वमंगलरूपेण प्रसन्ना भव सुन्दरि ।।८१।।
सर्वस्वरूपे विप्राणां मन्त्रसारे परात्परे ।।
सुखदे मोक्षदे देवि प्रसन्ना भव सुन्दरि।।८२।। 

 This is a verse describing how Lord Brahma praises Lordess Savitri when he was ordered by the Supreme Lord Krishna to marry her, as soon as she was created. 

Lord Brahma first praises her first, wins her heart and then takes her to Brahma Loka. 

 This is one of the thousands of instances where Lord have praised and even worshiped Goddesses. This blog takes a special interest to spread that message to its visitors. 

Women must be respected and worshiped for  the good qualities and sacrifices they make. That is the only way a society can flourish. That is the only way human civilization can prevent destruction of itself. This is the most important understanding that a society needs to have, in order to prevent juvenile anti social behavior and criminal mindset. 

 

विप्रपापेन्धदाहाय ज्वलदग्निशिखोपमे ।।
ब्रह्मतेजःप्रदे देवि प्रसन्ना भव सुन्दरि ।। ८३ ।।
कायेन मनसा वाचा यत्पापं कुरुते द्विजः ।।
तत्ते स्मरणमात्रेण भस्मीभूतं भविष्यति।।८४।।
इत्युक्त्वा जगतां धाता तत्र तस्थौ च संसदि ।।
सावित्री ब्रह्मणा सार्द्धं ब्रह्मलोकं जगाम सा ।।८९ ।।
अनेन स्तवराजेन संस्तूयाश्वपतिर्नृपः ।।
ददर्श तां च सावित्रीं वरं प्राप मनोगतम् ।।८६।।
स्तवराजमिदं पुण्यं त्रिसन्ध्यायां च यः पठेत् ।।
पाठे चतुर्णां वेदानां यत्फलं तल्लभेद् ध्रुवम् ।। ८७ ।।

सावित्री कृता यम स्तुति: 

सावित्र्युवाच।
धर्मामर्मविधानज्ञ! सर्वधर्मप्रवर्त्तक!।
त्वमेव जगतो नाथः प्रजासंयमनो यमः ।।

कर्मणामनुरूपेण यस्माद्यमयसे प्रजा-।
तस्माद्वै प्रोच्यसे देव! यम इत्येव नामतः ।।

धर्मेणेमाः प्रजाः सर्वा यस्माद्रञ्जयसे प्रभो!।
तस्मात्ते धर्मराजेति नाम सद्भिर्निगद्यते ।।

सुकृतं दुष्कृतं चोभे पुरोधाय यदा जनाः।
त्वत्सकाशं मृता यान्ति तस्मात्त्वं मृत्युरुच्यसे ।।

कालं कलार्द्धं कलयन् सर्वेषां त्वं हि तिष्ठसि।
तस्मात् कालेति ते नाम प्रोच्यते तत्त्वदर्शभिः ।।

सर्वेषामेव भूतानां यस्मादन्तकरो महान्।
तस्मात्त्वमन्तकः प्रोक्तः सर्वदेवैर्महाद्युते! ।।

विवस्वतस्त्वं तनयः प्रथमं परिकीर्तितः।
तस्माद्वैवस्वतो नाम्ना सर्वलोकेषु कथ्यते ।।

आयुष्ये कर्मणि क्षीणे गृह्णासि प्रसभञ्जनम्।
तदा त्वं कथ्यसे लोके सर्वप्राणिहरेति वै ।।

तव प्रसादाद्देवेश! सङ्करो न प्रजायते।
सतां सदा गतिर्देव! त्वमेव परिकीर्तितः ।।

जगतोऽस्य जगन्नाथ! मर्यादापरिपालकः।
पाहिमां त्रिदशश्रेष्ठ! दुःखितां शरणागताम्
पितरौ च तथैवास्य राजपुत्रस्य दुःखितौ ।।

यम उवाच।
स्तवेन भक्त्या धर्मज्ञे! मया तुष्टेन सत्यवान्।
तव भर्ता विमुक्तोऽयं लब्धकामा व्रजाबले! ।।

स्तोत्रेणानेन धर्मज्ञे! कल्पमुत्थाय यस्तु माम्।
कीर्तयिष्यति तस्यापि दीर्घमायुर्भविष्यति ।।

The one who chants these will have longevity and will not be bothered by Lord Yama Dharma. 

Any Dvija who chants this or even thinks of this, burns away all his sins immediately. 

 

Savitri is an exceptional character in the Puranas which has been praised by everyone without exception. The Supreme Lord Krishna , when incarnated as Matsya and Nara-Narayana, has praised Savitri. 

 

She was born with the boon of Lordess Savitri. And hence, she had such coprehensive knowledge of the Dharma and scriptures that, she could converse on par with the Lord Yama.  

This is an indication to all the women that, one can be well educated and well worsed in scriptures and vedic knowledge. It is the interest or the lack of it there of that can degrade or degenerate a lady. 

Vedic scriptures restrict only the ignorant and the arrogant from the studies of scriptures. The true seers both men and women alike are always welcomed with privilege to know as it is the most important duty of a mother to educate her children with these as the first and foremost knowledge. 

The role of ladies has never been undermined by the creator or  his Creator, the Supreme Lord. We need to agree on this together as a society.
